We found a diner just a few blocks from our hotel that served a mean breakfast. In fact it was so good, we went two days in a row.
I enjoyed the banana and chocolate crepes, while Colin ate an omelette with green apple and brie.
In an attempt to find lunch one day, we stumbled across Colin's favorite food....hot dogs (aka chien chaud). Although tempting, we opted for sushi instead.
This is a restaurant we found in Old Montreal near the sidewalk artists.
Who can resist a plate full of mussels and frites?
My salad was topped with smoked salmon, goat cheese, and a balsamic reduction that would make Julia Child weep.
Rule #1 of vacation - Never pass on dessert.
Rule #2 of vacation - Never pass a restaurant that only serves chocolate.
The entire menu at Juliette & Chocolat is comprised of chocolate items. It even includes a salad with chocolate dressing.

For our second dessert of the day we shared a chocolate crepe, which we washed down with bowls of hot chocolate. Drinking out of a bowl helps you consume the chocolate faster.
Lastly, our absolute favorite restaurant was L'Express. This hidden gem serves authentic French cuisine, with fruit tarts for dessert. Our only regret of the weekend was not going back for seconds!
