Since we were already in Europe, three of us decided to spend the weekend in France. From Maastricht we took the fast train south through Belgium and three hours later arrived in Paris. We spent the first day checking out the sites and the second day holiday shopping.
Our hotel was on a street full of markets, bakeries and shoe stores. We were within walking distance of the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees, which made getting around quite easy.
Fromage (Cheese) Store.
My future apartment when Oprah realizes I am her long lost niece.
One of the busiest round-abouts in the world with 12 streets intersecting. The chickens do not cross the road here.
One really big arc.
Looking up...
...and looking down.Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
We hiked 284 stairs to the top to get a view of the city.
I guess I'd be mad too if my head fell off the Arc.
Night vision.
View of the Champs Elysees (looking away from the Arc).
Next stop on the tour.
The Three Medtronic-teers attempted to take a self-portrait since no one spoke enough french to ask a passerby. Guess we'll stick to research instead of photography.
Here is the Christmas Market where we enjoyed delicious Nutella crepes.

The Eiffel light show.
This is where the Mona Lisa lives.
We tried to visit the Hunchback, but he wasn't around.
Instead we got to meet the gargoyles.
Meet Gerald the Gargoyle.
For Christmas they set up a beautiful nativity.
William and Kate should really consider getting married here.
A quick stop at the D'Orsay which is an art museum built in the old train station.
