Celebs flock to Grand Forks

Okay, so maybe flock isn't quite accurate, but we've had the luxury of several famous sightings here in Grand Forks recently. As the family ambassador for the rich and famous, we sent Colin to check them out. Back in late March, Bill Clinton came to town for the North Dakota Democratic Convention. He squeezed in some PR by giving a speech in honor of the 15 year anniversary of the 1997 flood. The speech was fitting, since he was the sitting President during the flood.
One week later, Sir Elton John made a concert stop at the Ralph Engelstad Arena. The rocket man is actually a very distant relative, but his busy schedule didn't allow for any family reunions.  Dear Elton, perhaps you could be so kind as to send some baby-sized sunglasses or something covered in rhinestones for the newest family member? I believe Norah is your great-aunt's 13th cousin, twice removed. Or something like that.

Unfortunately, Colin was unable to attend the Coolio concert that took place this past weekend. I know he was disappointed, and he may have shed one small tear at the missed opportunity. It's not every day that a washed-up rapper from the 90s turned Food Network Reality Show contestant visits Grand Forks. Guess we'll just have to catch up with him next time.
