Norah's Eve

On Norah's first Christmas Eve, we awoke to sunshine, fresh snow and Nana's coffeecake.
Norah didn't get to sample the coffeecake (although I am pretty sure Papa was sneaking some to her), but the cake fumes must have gotten to her, because after breakfast she turned into a wild woman.
She convinced her partner in crime, Bailey, that the dishwasher was a jungle gym. Who needs toys when you can just use major kitchen appliances?
After a subsequent failed attack on the refrigerator and oven, they resorted to just looking out the window. They were hoping for a possible Santa sighting, but instead only saw Papa shoveling the driveway.
After a day full of ladies shopping and men + Norah watching football, we all donned our Christmas Eve attire.
While dinner was cooking, Norah practiced walking and standing. "Look Mom, no hands!"
We let her open one gift and of course she picked the biggest one.
Then we all posed for a mandatory group photo.
The table was set in preparation for grilled steak, roasted potatoes, steamed green beans and two types of chocolate cake. You can never have too much cake. Besides, Santa thinks cookies are so 2008. We gathered round the table (notice Norah's photobomb on the left), and everyone ate until their bellies began to take on the appearance of a bowl full of jelly. Or cake.
We ended the night with a game of Apples to Apples, lots of giggling....and more cake.
