One of our favorite things to do on vacation is eat (well that is an accurate statement when we are at home too); but we typically spend most of our vacation either eating, thinking about eating, or taking a nap after eating. You get the picture. By now, we all know that I am, that person, the one that takes pictures of my food. So, without further ado, in no particular order, a photo montage of some of the restaurants and delicious eats we encountered while vacationing in Boulder.
Luciles - Known for their creole breakfast, including the most buttery biscuits known to man, and the location of my very first tasting of a New Orleans beignet. For those of you who are beignet-virgins, a beignet is a square of heaven that has been deep fried and then lightly heavily dusted with powdered sugar. If that isn't sweet enough for you, you can top your deep fried soon-to-be-love-handle with homemade jam. Nicely played Luciles.
Some fast-food place that we forget the name of - If you are looking for quick and delicious Mediterranean food; this is the place to go. Unfortunately, since we can't tell you the name of the restaurant, you likely won't be able to. Nevertheless we were served heaping plates of hummus, pickled cabbage, pitas, feta cheese, and anything else that you can pickle or remotely sounds Greek. Norah was a big fan of the water.
Oak - A fine dining establishment that was kind enough to let us choose our own table, which was Norah-friendly and conveniently located at the far end of the patio. We got to sample dishes like fig and goat cheese bruschetta, scallops with creamed corn, and chocolate peanut butter cups topped with a toasted marshmallow and peanut butter powder. You'll definitely have to twist my arm to go back. Pizzaria Locale - According to me they are known for their delicious Neapolitan style pizza. According to George, they are known for their delicious crayons. Norah was impartial to both and stuck to her sweet potatoes. If the delicious pizza isn't enough for you, try the butterscotch pudding or the dessert pizza made with Nutella. If you are really ambitious, you can

Salt - When you arrive you are served freshly baked bread that you are instructed to slather in butter and a sprinkling of some fancy pink salt (I think the Food Network calls it "himalayan salt"). If you order the tomato soup, [which only a fool would not], they serve it with a goat cheese grilled cheese sandwich. You'll never look at grilled cheese the same way ever again.

Last but not least, my favorite photos.
Mateo - A restaurant known for overcompensating its guests when they inadvertently do not have a table available after you made reservations. Expect at least one or two bottles of bubbly, every appetizer on the menu, and some award-winning photography...all on the house.
